With one of the largest congregations in Springfield, Central Assembly of God expanded their existing facility
with a new sanctuary and other additions. A feature of the new sanctuary, seen below, is the use of stone from the
church's original building which was destroyed by fire decades ago. Longtime church members recalled that
the stone had been buried with other debris at the city landfill after the fire. Incredibly, the location of the stone's disposal
was found and it was recovered and renewed for use in the new building.
